Located within the confines of an occupied private villa, we create a unique, single level, subterranean domestic home at the bottom of the landscaped gardens. Cut into a steep sloping site, this project required the construction of a substantial retaining wall structure to facilitate the construction of a domestic property which would not obscure the view from the original villa. To further this concealed element, a green roof was utilised across the entire new structure creating an uninterrupted view and bring the associated environmental benefits. In keeping with the modern curved-glass design of the front facing elevation of the new structure, an appropriately contemporary finish was generated for the interiors. This included a modern audio visual installation with appropriate energy management systems, and the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke furniture to the client’s exacting standards.
