The first £1m plus project for our mechanical and electrical services division

Following on from the successful completion of the £750k mechanical and electrical works for the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) at Tay House in Glasgow, our M & E services division has recently been awarded with a £1.1million contract for further works.

This £1.1million contract is the division’s largest contract to date.  The division has been trading since the 1950s and operates, not only as a support service to Thomas Johnstone’s core business, but as a self sufficient division trading with a number of repeat clients across the sectors.  The new contract for London and Scottish Properties is a testament in itself to how far the division has come, and its achievements as an independent division.

The additional works with Tay House involves the full refurbishment of the ceilings within the remaining floors of the building. This includes the replacement of 150 fan coil units, the design and installation of a new lighting scheme amounting to over 900 lights, as well as a new VESDA fire alarm void detection scheme. Our team is on site now and are progressing well.  The works are due to be completed on programme at the end of August 2009.

For more information please contact Ian Campbell our mechanical and electrical services manager or view our M & E services page on the website.
