10 years since management buy-out

Thomas Johnstone was established in 1868 as a shopfitting company in Ayrshire.  It remained in family ownership and moved to Glasgow providing quality pre-manufacture and full fit-out services. 

The company has developed by focusing on its customers’ needs and has evolved through the years, introducing an Electrical division in 1957, Small Works in 1997, Building in 2000 and Decorating in 2006.

Ownership changed with a Management Buy-Out in 1999.  Three existing Directors remained and were joined by four new, along with other members of staff, who formed the new family of shareholders.

During the ten years the company has established itself in the marketplace as a leading specialist fit out contractor with great strength in its support divisions and has had the opportunity to work with an impressive list of clients on a fantastic range of projects.

Maintaining our established vision “to be a great company to work for and a great company to work with,” we will continue to offer a completely customer focused approach for every one of our clients, old and new on each project for the next ten years and beyond.
