Fiona Hyslop MSP, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Life Long Learning, visited our site at James Watt College as recognition of the Government’s accelerated investment in Scotland’s Further Education sector.
The visit to the Finnart Street campus in Greenock on 14th January 2009, provided the MSP with a first hand experience of the work being carried out to refurbish the College entrance, refectory, ICT area, salon and caféteria facilities, all due to be completed by the end of February.
The MSP was given the opportunity to lay a tile and spent time meeting all of our staff and labour on the site.
John McKerrow, our Surveying Director said:
“We may work all over Britain, but it is a privilege to have been selected for the refurbishment at James Watt College so near to home. Everybody was extremely positive and complimentary about the works being carried out, particularly by a local company. We are enthusiastic about working in the Education sector, hopefully to help ensure the prosperity of our country for the next generations, maybe even to follow the example of people like James Watt.”
Fiona Hyslop studied at Glasgow University where we are currently carrying out extensive refurbishments and formation of new facilities on a sequence of projects in different buildings.
